Some Facebook users are seeing the light on May 26. And they’re pleased about it.

Many number of users are taking social media to report that they no longer able to access to the Dark Mode feature in Facebook. It is the view that swaps a dark background in instead of a white interface, in which some people find easier to read. Dark Mode have long battery life.

Let’s see Twitter right now, and it won’t take you long to find users complaining that Dark Mode on Facebook is unavailable. Many people tweets noting that Dark Mode was gone began appearing at around 5 p.m. ET on Wednesday(May 26)

Could Be A Facebook App Update Issue

Both the Android and iOS Facebook apps has received an update before the last twenty-four hours, according to the Google Play Store and App Store listings. Considering the time of the increase in reports and the recent app updates, it would not be surprising if the updates may have remover dark mode support. Some complaints on Down Detector also seem to be indicating the problem first suffered following an update given to the app, pointing out that it is not just dark mode that’s disappeared, but the overall app design has changed back to an older version as well. Seeing the problem affecting both operating systems, it raises the question of whether the removal of dark mode happened by accident or intentional?

STATEMENT GIVEN BY FACEBOOK

Dark Mode isn’t disappeared from everyone’s phone. We’ve checked among staffers of Tom’s Guide and everyone we’ve surveyed has been able to turn on Dark Mode on their iPhone or any Android device.

“We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing certain features on Facebook’s Android app,” a Facebook spokesperson told Tom’s Guide. “We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.”

This is not a very first time in recent weeks this problem has rised . On May 5, some Android users reported a similar issue with Dark Mode in Facebook.

Facebook’s response suggests they’re fixing the issue as soon as possible, so the best course of action sounds like waiting for the return of Dark Mode. If you can’t wait, our friends at TechRadar says that they have come up with a fix for iOS, though the method is a bit involved. You can start by deleting, and then reinstalling the Facebook app. If Dark Mode isn’t available after that, force quit the app by swiping out of your iPhone’s dock of open apps. You can, launch settings and select Facebook from the app settings section; from there, you should turn on Upload HD Video and Upload HD Videos. Yeah, we don’t know why either, but TechRadar says it works, though we can’t verify it on our iPhones, which were working fine. There’s no apparent work-around for Android.

Normally, you can activate Facebook’s Dark Mode by going to the hamburger icon menu in the mobile app, selecting Settings & Privacy and heading to Dark Mode.
