Many number of Apple Mail users are experiencing assorted issues with the service, including failure to send or sync across iCloud.

From the early beginning to mid-morning Eastern Time, the number of persons reporting icloud problems preventing them accessing Mail is being increased. At around 11:50 AM ET apple updated its system status page to reflect the problems. The problem is been tracked for four hours with the crowd-sourced down detector.

iCloud has faced a handful of abnormal outages recently. Over the last month, iCloud Mail and other services have faced a pair of documented outages affecting a small percentage of users.

Symptoms of the problem appear is varied, but a frequent one is related to connections timing out. That shows that the difficulty is with Apple’s iCloud servers, which can be protected by how other users are reporting Calendar syncing issues.

Currently web-based email at iCloud.com are unaffected.

It’s rare for iCloud to have interruption, but the current situation is the second time within five weeks. In late April 2021, the interruption was preventing some iCloud users from accessing email for many hours.
